What we are building

A question such as "How many days until Christmas?" should have a quick answer. A useful planning tool should also explain its assumptions. This site combines both: focused countdown pages for known events and flexible calculators for any dates you choose.

The date tools show more than one view of the same span. You can see total calendar days, weeks plus remaining days, exact calendar years and months, weekdays, weekends, and total hours. Past dates are supported, and an optional inclusive setting counts both boundary dates.

How our calculations work

Date-only inputs are converted into neutral calendar-day numbers before subtraction. This avoids a common problem where a daylight-saving change creates a 23-hour or 25-hour local day and shifts a timestamp-based answer.

The exact calendar breakdown uses the real length of years and months. It does not treat one month as four weeks or assume every month contains 30 days. Leap days are included when they fall inside the range.

Business days mean Monday through Friday. We show weekends separately and do not guess which public holidays apply. Holiday calendars differ by country, region, organization, and year, so those dates must be checked against the calendar relevant to your plan.

Prepared event dates

Fixed annual events, such as Christmas on December 25, move to their next occurrence after the current date passes. Variable events use their calendar rule. For example, United States Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November, while Easter requires a separate annual calculation.

Some events vary by country, organization, school, league, or local authority. Those pages explain the assumption used where possible. Always confirm an official source before relying on a countdown for legal deadlines, travel, school attendance, tickets, payments, or other high-impact decisions.
